Donald Becker is the founder, and principal attorney at The Becker Law Firm. Donald is a Rutgers Law School – Newark graduate with 45 years of experience in personal injury, criminal defense, medical malpractice, and products liability law. Donald is an admitted attorney in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Through these extensive and long years of seeing a variety of intricate cases, Mr. Becker has developed a deep understanding of the complexities of these areas. Donald’s passion for justice drives him to advocate fiercely for his clients, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their rights are protected.

Before Donald began his journey of becoming an attorney, he worked on Capitol Hill as the Legislative Assistant for the most prominent social activist, congresswomen, and lawyer, Bella Abzug. While working for Bella Abzug, Donald helped write Title IX, which mandated equal federal funding for men’s and women’s sports in high school, college, and professional levels. This experience greatly influenced Donald to pursue societal justice, which is shown throughout a plethora of winning cases that Donald has undertook.

After leaving Capitol Hill, Donald worked as a claims representative for Iowa National Insurance in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. While working as a claims representative, Donald investigated claims made by policyholders to corroborate the accuracy of the filing and determine payouts and reimbursements. During this time, Donald was able to hone his abilities to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims made by policyholders. Working as an insurance claims representative, gave Donald an insight about the interworking of the insurance business and a further understanding of what information the insurance companies need in order to settle cases.

Upon completion of Law School and passing the BAR, Donald joined the prestigious law firm in New York City, Bower and Gardner, where he worked as a litigating associate defense attorney on many complex medical malpractice lawsuits, products liability cases, and automobile claims. At that time, Bower and Gardner represented every NYC Hospital such as (Belleview Hospital; Metropolitan Hospital; Harlem Hospital; Lincoln Hospital; Jacobi Hospital; St. Vincent’s Hospital; Brookdale Hospital; and Elmhurst Hospital) and FOJP Hospitals (Federation of Jewish Philanthropy Hospital’s) such as (Mt. Sinai Hospital; Beth Israel Hospital; Albert Einstein Hospital; Montefiore Hospital, LIJ Maimonides Medical Center; Brooklyn Jewish Hospital).

After leaving Bower and Gardner, Donald opened his own law firm in 1986 as a plaintiffs’ attorney, which he still owns and currently practices. Having been an insurance claims representative and a former insurance defense attorney, Donald has worn all three hats in the field of accident law. The switch from being a former defensive attorney to now a plaintiffs’ attorney, has only provided Donald and his clients with the best outcomes possible due to Donald’s former work experience and knowledge of the insurance business. Throughout the years, Mr. Becker has settled and won for his clients more than $60 million in total litigation settlements and has a proven track record for maximizing his clients’ settlements. Donald strives to not only connect and help navigate on-going legal disputes with clients, but also envisages successful and prosperous outcomes for all of his client’s.
